Pearson Lavender Farm
The first Snow.

This morning, the temperature was 13°F when the sun rose. Despite being low in the December sky, the sun was a welcome sight, reminding us of the approaching spring and summer, along with all our plans and activities on the lavender farm. This week, we'll be setting up new grow lights in the greenhouse. Fooling the plants into believing it's spring lifts my spirits too!

The plants in the field, however, cannot be deceived into thinking it's an early spring. We cultivate a range of zone 6 hardy Lavender. We plant them in raised rows and encircle each plant with mulch to safeguard their root systems. The elevated mountain location provides the excellent drainage lavender needs, although the wind can be quite strong here. Nonetheless, the lavender continually amazes us with its hardiness, combining beauty and strength.
